I was on DDial #51 in Revere MA (Boston) and a bunch of local 1-caller-at-a-time boards (Nite-Litel, The SwitchBoard, Canteloupe Grove) in the Lowell MA area during the mid-1980's.

I was on a lot that you were on, 516 area code, that's why.

I was a Co-SysOp of Bloom County (the c64 board) for about 2 years.
I ran The Comic Strip, which I turned into The Crime Scene, remotely.

Some of my favorite PC boards were:
The Mutiny
hm..crap, I don't remember anymore.  I could dig up and find Qmodem/Telix somewhere and pull up the phone book.

You guys are really making me want to dig up my old board and get it up and running again.

Hello everybody.

When I say I called or logged into a system, I was ddialing from my high school but the calls were into the city and I was told I could not use it anymore. So, another ddialer gave me an ADM-3A monitor, and I bought a Radio Shack 300 baud modem for use in spring, 1990. The names are given in the order that I remember them, because the system name changed every so often. System names in Parenthesis, I was not present during this time.

In Philadelphia, PA: 1991-1998?

(Philly Chat), Electronic Cafe, Silent Planet, Ten Forward, Savage Frontier

(The Playpen), Active Imagination

Improbability Factor, Gak!

GinsuTalk

On the Internet: 1996-1999

Entchat

DoobieDial

2000+

Latenightbbs

Carriersync

Savage Frontier

Digital Dial

Chit Chat

STS-(Turbo Dial)

... and often bata tests new places for functionality.

Being only 20 years old, I only recently started getting into BBS.  I was a little young at the time and when we finally got a modem in 95 most of the BBS in my area (717) were already dead or private.  It's great that there's a few dial-up boards around and being able to telnet with some amazing clients such as SyncTerm, mTelnet and PuTTy is fantastic.  The board's I hang out on (when I get the time)

- Haxor's Palace
- Roughneck's
- Ventrauren
- Xanadu
- Prison Board
- The Hard Drive Cafe
- Eagle's Dare
- XTC
- Edge of Oblivion
- X-Bit
- Vortex

I'm always open to suggestions on boards to connect to, mostly into playing Usurper and modified LORD.  I don't mind discussions, but I'm a little lazy on keeping track of threads.  Any dial-up BBS' that are pretty active would be great!
